II — Platform

Which platform tier does a small business need?

Keelson Platform is hosted by Keelson, billed month to month as platform access, and runs payments through your own account. Basic runs a single-location business well without a back-office hire. Core is for a business with more moving parts — staff, locations, stock, or marketing that has to run on its own. Custom is for operations that do not fit a drawing that already exists. Basic and Core are in development; Custom builds are available today.

Scope a Custom build

What a "module specific to your trade" means. The platform is tailored per vertical. A gym gets member management and class scheduling; a service trade gets job tickets and route-day planning; a studio gets packages and instructor pay. The core — customers, money, schedule, reporting — is the same backbone underneath. The modules in your engagement are named in your statement of work.

Your data stays yours. Customer records, invoices, books, and history are exported to you in a standard machine-readable format on request and when an agreement ends. Platform access is licensed month to month; your data is not.

III — Hosting and care

What does the hosting and care plan cover?

The part most people find out they needed after the site went down and nobody answered. Available for sites we built and for sites you inherited from whoever built them last — you do not have to rebuild to get maintained.

Uptime Hosting, monitored Your site runs on hosting our team manages, monitored for uptime, with backups on a schedule.
Renewals Certificates and domain, renewed before they lapse SSL and DNS kept current on a calendar, not on memory. The expiry email nobody reads is our problem, not yours.
Security Patched and scanned Security updates applied and every release scanned before it takes live traffic.
Changes Content updates, monthly Hours, staff, prices, photos, a new page now and then — within a commercially reasonable monthly scope.
Support The team that built it Email reaches the in-house team that already knows how your site is put together. No ticket queue in another time zone.
Inherited sites Taken over, then kept up We learn how it was built, move it onto hosting we manage, and keep it running. A rebuild is only on the table if you want one.

Standing orders

How does billing work?

No prices are published because scope decides the fee, and quoting a number against a scope nobody has agreed to is how projects go wrong. Every engagement starts with a free discovery call and a written statement of work that names the pages, the modules, the turnaround, and the fee. What does not vary:

  • Recurring fees are invoiced monthly in advance and due within seven days
  • Month to month. No annual contract, no minimum term, nothing to renew
  • Thirty days' written notice to end it, either direction — email counts
  • Your last month is a full month of service; nothing is switched off early
  • Your site, content, and data are exported to you on the way out

Keelson serves US-based businesses, primarily in South Carolina, under agreements governed by South Carolina law.

Questions

What people ask about scope

Can I take the website without the platform, or the platform without the website?

Yes. Each of the three is its own line: a website build, platform access, and a hosting and care plan. Many clients start with one and add another later. The statement of work lists exactly what your engagement includes.

Can I move from Basic to Core later?

Yes. Because everything runs month to month, moving up a tier is a change to the next month's statement of work, not a new contract. Your data carries over; nothing is re-entered.

Do payments run through Keelson?

No. Payment collection runs through your own payment account, and funds go to your bank. Keelson never holds your customers' money or card details, and your payment relationships stay yours if the agreement ever ends.

What happens to my site if I cancel the care plan?

Your site, its content, and your data are yours and are exported to you in a standard format. The thirty-day notice period exists so the hand-over is done properly: DNS moved, data exported, credentials handed over, and the site left running while you sort out where it goes next.

Do you work with businesses outside South Carolina?

Yes. Keelson is based in Columbia, South Carolina and serves small businesses across the United States. Everything is built and supported in-house, in America.
